Karisa & Kritters brings you farm-fresh, cream-top A2A2 raw milk in glass half-gallon jars — straight from our herd on the wide-open plains of Sheridan Lake, Colorado.
When milk leaves our farm in a glass jar, it carries everything nature put into it — nothing pasteurised away, nothing homogenised out. Our A2A2 cows produce milk with the original beta-casein protein that many people find far easier to digest than conventional dairy.
Every cow in our herd is tested and certified A2A2 — the original milk protein that many find gentler on digestion.
Non-homogenised milk means the cream naturally rises — shake or spoon it off for coffee, butter, or enjoy as nature made it.
Every half-gallon is bottled fresh in reusable glass jars — no plastic, no BPA, just clean and sustainable packaging.
Our cows roam the wide plains of SE Colorado, grazing on natural grasses year-round and supplemented with clean hay in winter.
Happy cows make great milk. We believe animal welfare isn't optional — it's the foundation of everything we produce at Karisa & Kritters.
We're a small family farm born from a love of real food and rural life. Our community comes first — that's why we bring milk to you every week.
"We switched to Karisa & Kritters' herdshare six months ago and haven't looked back. The cream-top milk in those glass jars is absolutely incredible — rich, fresh, and nothing like what you find at the store. Our kids ask for it by name now."
"I've always had trouble digesting regular milk but A2A2 has been a game changer for me. Karisa is so knowledgeable and genuinely cares about every cow and every customer. The Burlington drop is super convenient. Highly recommend!"
"The quality is consistent week after week. You can taste the difference that proper animal care makes. Picking up at the Cheyenne Wells drop is so easy, and Karisa always responds to messages quickly. This is what local food should look like."
Colorado law allows raw milk through herdshare agreements — you become a part-owner of the herd and receive your weekly share of fresh milk. Join hundreds of SE Colorado families already enjoying real, real milk.
A small family farm rooted in the plains of SE Colorado, built on the belief that real food starts with happy animals.
Karisa & Kritters, LLC was founded in January 2025 at 9569 US Highway 385, Sheridan Lake, Colorado — a stretch of wide, open high-plains country where the horizon feels endless and the sky touches the earth. The farm is the life project of Karisa Hope Splitter, whose passion for animals, honest farming, and real food has been the heartbeat of everything we do.
Growing up in rural Colorado, Karisa developed a deep respect for the land and the creatures on it. She witnessed firsthand how industrial food systems had stripped raw ingredients of their nutrition, flavour, and integrity. She made a decision: she would farm the old way — slowly, carefully, and with genuine love for every animal in her care.
Today, Karisa & Kritters operates a certified A2A2 raw milk herdshare serving the communities of SE Colorado. Our cream-top milk is bottled fresh each week into reusable half-gallon glass jars and delivered to drop locations across the region — including Eads, Cheyenne Wells, Burlington, La Junta, and Springfield. Every jar tells the same story: well-fed cows, clean practices, and milk the way it used to taste.
The name says it all. "Karisa" is the farmer — present, caring, and accountable. "Kritters" is every animal on this land, loved not as a production unit but as a living being deserving respect, space, and good grass under their hooves.
Our cows are the very centre of Karisa & Kritters. We select breeds known for rich, high-butterfat milk and gentle temperaments. Every animal is tested and certified A2A2 before joining the herd — because that's a promise we make to every member of our herdshare community.
We favour heritage breeds like Jersey and Guernsey — renowned for producing naturally rich, golden milk with high butterfat content and a luxurious cream layer. These breeds have been valued for centuries for good reason.
Our cows live outdoors year-round on the Colorado plains, rotationally grazed across clean pastures. In winter, they are supplemented with local alfalfa hay and free-choice mineral blocks to ensure optimal health and milk quality.
We never use synthetic hormones or routine antibiotics in our herd. Animal health is managed through excellent nutrition, low-stress handling, and preventive care. If a cow ever needs treatment, she is removed from milk production until fully recovered.
At Karisa & Kritters, we believe that the most important food decisions happen long before anything reaches your table. Our mission is to make nutrient-dense, honest dairy accessible to the families of SE Colorado — one half-gallon glass jar at a time. Every decision we make on this farm flows from four core values.
We tell you exactly what goes into our milk — what our cows eat, how they live, and how we handle every jar. No secrets, no marketing fluff. Just honest dairy.
Our cows are not machinery. They are living beings whose comfort, health, and happiness are non-negotiable. When the animals thrive, the milk is extraordinary.
We built this farm for SE Colorado. From Eads to Burlington to La Junta, our weekly drops bring real food close to home for rural families who deserve better than a grocery shelf.
We manage our land for the long term — rotational grazing, minimal chemical inputs, and reusable glass packaging. Good farming today means better land tomorrow.
Karisa grew up in Kiowa County — the same wide-sky country where Karisa & Kritters now calls home. Her childhood was spent around animals, learning from neighbours how to feed, care for, and respect livestock. After years of researching nutrition, raw milk science, and sustainable farm management, she formalised her passion into a business in January 2025.
She manages every aspect of the farm — from milking and bottling to customer communications and weekly drop logistics. If you call 720-274-6569 or email allin@karisakritters.us, you'll be talking to Karisa directly. That direct connection between farmer and family is something she will never outsource.
Karisa genuinely believes that food is medicine, and that the quality of what we put into our bodies begins long before the kitchen. Her farm is her life's work, and every jar of milk that leaves it is a reflection of that dedication.
Fresh milk delivered to your community every week — five convenient stops across SE Colorado.
Every week, we drive your fresh half-gallon glass jars of cream-top A2A2 raw milk to five communities across Southeastern Colorado. We want every pickup to be smooth and stress-free. Here are a few things to keep in mind when collecting your weekly share.
Please return clean glass jars each week when you collect your fresh share. Our reusable glass system depends on everyone participating — it keeps costs down and waste out of landfills.
Drop windows are typically 30–60 minutes long. We do our best to accommodate, but milk left uncollected may need to be held or returned to the farm. We'll always try to make arrangements if you let us know in advance.
Bring a small cooler or insulated bag to keep your milk at the right temperature on the drive home. Raw milk is a living product and should be refrigerated as soon as possible after pickup.
If you need to skip a week, please let us know by Thursday of the previous week. This helps us plan production and avoid waste. A quick text to 720-274-6569 is all it takes.
Get in touch and we'll match you to the nearest drop location, walk you through the herdshare agreement, and get your first jar of fresh milk on the way to you.
